Transforming Lives through Guidance & Empowerment

Our Journey

Genora McClanahan
I am Genora McClanahan, a passionate advocate for personal growth and community empowerment. With over 15 years of experience in counseling, recruiting, and life coaching, I specialize in helping individuals from diverse backgrounds overcome barriers and achieve their fullest potential. My journey includes working with community-based agencies such as the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Human Services, and Career Services Centers, where I’ve guided individuals in building life skills, job readiness, and self-confidence.
As the founder of It’s Because of Love, I am deeply committed to transforming lives through tools, resources, and compassionate support. I believe in empowering individuals transitioning from structured living—whether from foster care, halfway houses, or other institutional programs—into a thriving community. My work emphasizes self-esteem building, conflict management, and nurturing family ties to help people create an enriched and empowered life.
Currently pursuing a graduate degree and holding a Bachelor’s in Human Services, I bring a culturally aware and solutions-driven approach to my work. My mission is clear: to inspire hope, eliminate barriers, and provide the tools necessary for individuals to achieve peace, independence, and self-reliance. Through my initiative, Roots to Wings, I strive to make lasting changes in the lives of those ready to transform and embrace their dreams.
